TBC Metalworks

TBC Metalworks bends 6061 and 6063 aluminum tube and pipe at our shop in Green Bay, Wisconsin, using CNC mandrel bending for tight radii and roll bending for sweeping curves. We TIG weld and polish aluminum in-house, and coordinate anodizing and powder coating through long-term local partners.

Aluminum bending capabilities

ProcessSize range
CNC mandrel bending1/2″ to 3″ OD
Roll bending1/2″ to 4-1/2″ OD
End forming1″ to 4″ OD

Aluminum-specific limits: tightest CLR by OD and temper depends on the combination of OD, wall thickness and radii.

6061 vs. 6063 aluminum for bent tube

  • 6063: often called architectural aluminum. It forms more easily and takes a cleaner finish, so it’s common for railings and visible parts.
  • 6061: stronger, and common for structural frames. It’s less forgiving on tight bends.

Temper matters as much as alloy. Harder tempers such as T6 are more likely to crack on tight radii than softer tempers. If your part needs a tight bend in 6061-T6, talk to us early about radius, wall thickness or temper so the design works the first time.

Finishing aluminum parts

  • TIG welding
  • Aluminum polishing
  • Anodizing and powder coating through local partners
  • Coping, CNC machining, threading and cutting to length
